An apple a day keeps the doctor away. The same can be said about a plump, ripe, shiny heirloom tomato, according to hospital pharmacist and chemist Hina Limbada.

Limbada has been a clinical pharmacist for the past 17 years in Ontario, Canada. At a cardiac care conference, she received a jolt of inspiration after learning about lycopene and its many skincare benefits when applied topically, including anti-inflammatory properties, diminishing pore size, alleviating hyperpigmentation and promoting brightening. These findings would be the basis for her skincare brand, aptly called Heirloom Beauty

Slicing Up Tomato’s Skincare Benefits

Heirloom Beauty’s products consist of a facial cleanser, moisturizing cream and a serum.

The Heirloom Beauty line comprises a glow facial cleanser and moisturizer and serum.  All contain an RP Glow complex with antioxidants lycopene, tomato seed oil, CoQ10 (ubiquinone), stabilized vitamin C and astaxanthin.

According to Limbada, the Reverse line carries myriad anti-aging benefits including defending skin against UV damage, brightening and reducing inflammation to yield a glowing, healthy complexion. The brand contends its ingredients yield a synergistic effect when combined; they boost each other’s antioxidant properties for healthier, more resilient skin when used as a regular regimen.

Beauty Through the Generations

Limbada, a mother of four, was inspired to expand the brand when her 11-year-old daughter was eager to try out the Antioxidant Glow Serum in Heirloom’s Reverse Line. But since the product is not formulated for kids (much to her daughter’s disappointment), Limbada decided to add a Preserve line geared to younger users.

“Preserve is safe and effective for teens and tweens,” she said. “[Think] beauty through the generations. We wanted our products to be heirlooms that you pass on to your generation.”

The vegan, cruelty-free line is made in Canada and uses ethically-sourced ingredients. Products are housed in recyclable packaging with airless pumps to ensure better product preservation, integrity, potency and safety, per the brand.

“Our mission at Heirloom Beauty is to revolutionize the skincare industry by providing effective solutions for all generations, catered to specific needs,” said Limbada. “We believe that skincare isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling confident in your own skin at every stage of life.”
