My iPhone 7, the one I use for work and play, is dying; sometimes, it feels like the end can’t come soon enough. The phone still works okay, but internet access is spotty at best. Websites load slowly or not at all and social media is more difficult to post. As a result, my weekly screen time is plunging. And that’s good news, trust me. Truly “constant” contact isn’t the same as “conscious” contact.

It’s time to reconnect in a meaningful way.

On November 3, Happi returns with our first live event since before the pandemic. Our Wellness Inside & Out Conference & Tabletop Exhibition will be held at Convene, One Liberty Plaza, New York City.

Our roster of speakers includes dermatologists, CEOs and researchers from companies such as Arcaea, Galinée and Shiseido. They’ll be discussing the role of wellness in the personal care space, research on the gut-brain-skin axis, efficacy testing, claims substantiation, new product development and more.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, today’s teens are weighed down by “persistent sadness.” NYU’s Jonathan Haidt blames cellphones, and their widespread use that began around 2010. Newsflash—it’s not just kids. Ditch the phone. Join us in New York City on November 3, when we talk about wellness in the personal care space.

Until then… keep reading Happi! This issue includes in-depth articles on new FTC Health Guidelines and the impact that MoCRA will have on the cosmetics industry. You will also find articles on fine fragrance, personal cleansers and contract manufacturing trends, too.

We hope you enjoy this issue of Happi. As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
