At the 68th Annual General Meeting of the Society of Cosmetic Scientists, held on May 19, at the Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House in London, members elected the 2016/2017 officers and council. The officers for 2016/2017 are: president—Ruth Borner (BSc (Hons), PhD CChem MRSC (Lehvoss); vice president —Jackie Searle, SCS Dip (IMCD); honorary secretary—Barry Winslett, GPRI HNC (IMCD); and honorary treasurer—Mojgan Moddaresi, PharmD PhD CBiol, FRSB MSB (Personal Care Regulatory Ltd). Newly elected members of Society of Cosmetic Scientists’ council include Amanda Isom, MA SCS Dip (CTPA); Sam Farmer, BSc SCS Dip (Sam Farmer); Sarah Gladstone, HTEC (Rahn); Stewart Long, BSc MSc (Cutest: the Skin Specialists); and Mustafa Varçin, MSc PhD (London College of Fashion). Contining in office at the Society of Cosmetic Scientists are Steve Barton (immediate past president) and council members Russel Cox, Shona Bear, Laura Kirkbride, Gem Bektas (secretariat) and Mel Cheekoory (administrator). The SCS also announced that the assistant honorary editor of the IJCS is Majella Lane, BSc PhD (UCL School of Pharmacy). In addition, Dene Godfrey was elected as an honorary member of the Society.
