Fundamentals of Surfactants, Emulsions, and Polymers for Cosmetic Formulations, a course led by Professor Samiul Amin, PhD, will be held online Oct. 11 and 12. This will be a two-day overview course on fundamental surfactant, emulsion, and polymer science required for direct practical applications in formulation design. The course will develop the fundamental understanding of the physico-chemical properties of surfactants, emulsions and polymers that can impact the performance criteria (eg, stability, foaming, cleansing, rheology etc.) of cosmetic and consumer products. The information shared will be of interest and value to scientists, formulators, supervisors and managers engaged in development, formulation, production, analytical characterization of personal care and consumer products that require a good working knowledge of fundamentals of surfactant, emulsion and polymer science. The cost to attend is $299 for SCC members, $399 for non-members and $179 for SCC junior of student members. There are discounts for companies registering five or more SCC members.
