Podiatrist Creates Problem-Solving Foot Treatment Brand

Dr. Nasim Kalhor created Dr. Anti Fungus after years of watching her brother suffer from congenital foot pain. Her two-year-old brand helps consumers treat fungus-related ailments.

Dr. Nasim Kalhor assumed the role of her younger brother’s hero when she’d take him to podiatry appointments.

His issue wasn’t treatment for a planter’s wart or a case of swollen ankles. It was the agony of foot pain related to congenital deformities in both feet. More than serving as moral support, she developed a strong desire to understand his condition driven by a lack of measurable improvement. Her compassion led her to becoming a podiatrist—a path that cemented her “lifelong commitment to alleviating pain.”

Throughout her career, Kalhor has treated patients with chronic fungal infections from toenail fungus to athlete’s foot. She said several patients had tried multiple OTC remedies to no avail and prescription options were often costly or associated with undesirable side effects.

“I saw how easily fungal infections spread in environments like locker rooms, nail salons and within households,” she told Happi. “These repeated frustrations made it clear there was a need for effective, accessible, doctor-backed solutions that patients could realistically use and maintain.”

Brand Bestsellers

To fill the gap, Kalhor founded her own brand, Dr. Anti Fungus, in 2024. The most common fungal issues include athlete’s foot, toenail fungus, fungal skin infections and moisture- and odor-related fungal problems. Dr. Anti Fungus products are designed to help treat and manage these conditions while supporting prevention for individuals with frequent exposure such as athletes, gym-goers and salon clients.

Products are available through Shopify, social media platforms, TikTok Shop and Amazon, as well as select doctor’s offices across the US. Currently, Dr. Anti Fungus is exploring retail partnerships with major national retailers such as Target, CVS and Walmart.

The brand’s bestseller is the combination of the Dr. Anti Fungus Antifungal Spray and its medicated press-on nails. Together, they offer a unique approach by pairing treatment with daily beauty routines.

“Our antifungal spray works to reduce fungal load on the skin and nail surface, helping inhibit fungal growth and prevent reinfection,” Kalhor said. “What makes our press-on nails especially different is that they are medicated, allowing the nail to be treated while still looking polished and beautiful.”

According to the brand, many users notice symptom relief, such as reduced itching, odor and discomfort, within two to four weeks, with visible nail improvement continuing over eight to 12 weeks, depending on consistency of applications and severity.

Kalhor shared: “The most meaningful feedback I’ve received is hearing patients say, ‘This is the first thing that actually worked,’ or ‘I finally feel confident wearing sandals again.’ Those moments—when people regain comfort, confidence, and quality of life—are the true measure of success.”
