Mary Kay’s Michelle Hines Elected SCC President

Mark Chandler is vice president and Tony O'Lenick is vice president-elect.

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists elected Michelle Hines, PhD, as president of the Society, effective January 1. Hines is director, product formulation, Mary Kay.

Other executive officers for 2022 include:

  • Vice President: Mark Chandler, ACT Solutions;
  • Vice President-Elect: Anthony O’Lenick, Nascent Technologies;
  • Secretary: Qihong Zhang, PhD, The Estée Lauder Companies; and
  • Treasurer: Karen Chun, Symrise.
“I am extremely honored and excited to serve the SCC as president in 2022,” said Hines. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members and capitalizing on their wealth of knowledge and experience in our industry.”

Other voting members of the board include Senior Directors Marie Thadal, Coptis; Melissa Christenson, Bridge; Angie Inouye, Charkit Chemical; Angela Eppler, PhD, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare; and Kayla Ivey, Gojo Industries.
Directors are Volodymyr Onyshchak, The Estée Lauder Companies; Sophie Bonham, Cosmos; Aaron Peterson, Barnet; Cubie Lamb, J. Strickland & Company; and Lionel Ripoll, PhD. They are joined by immediate Past President Liz Streland, Nagase Specialty Materials; and IFSCC Representative Peter Tsolis, The Estée Lauder Companies, both of whom serve in an ex-officio capacity.
