Dr. Howard Murad MD on Living Better, Longer
SCC President and CEO Erica O'Grady welcomed Dr. Howard Murad MD to talk about the topic.
Dr. Howard Murad MD founded his eponymous skincare company when he was 50 years old. Who better than, to explain how people can live better and longer? Murad was the Frontiers of Science Keynote at the SCC Annual Meeting in Los Angeles.
According to Murad, intracellular water loss eventually cripples the cell’s ability to function as intended.
Murad explained that the issue is compounded by cultural stress, the 24-hour stress of modern living that results in inflammaging. To combat the malady, Murad recommended a healthy diet of vegetables, fruits and lean meats. In addition, he suggested that adults learn to enjoy life like they did when they were children. To achieve that, people must disconnect from social media and cellphones, and make real connections rather than virtual ones.
