Kaleidoscope's most popular products include Miracle Drops and Da Brat So So Braid & Grip Gel

Working as a hairstylist in the 2000s, Jesseca Judy Dupart-Harris remembers the animated reactions she’s get after completing a client’s hair. The color, dimension and shine were awe-inspiring—it was like peering through a kaleidoscope and seeing all the colors and intricate patterns.

“I’ve always been inspired by color and creativity—the kaleidoscope toy especially, always sparked something in me,” she told Happi. “I simply love colors, and the name [of my company] reflects the vibrancy, empowerment, and transformation I want people to feel when using our products.”

A Miracle Drop

One appointment, however, did not create that wow factor. A mishap left a bald spot on a customer—and a mark on Dupart-Harris that she says forever changed her life.

“I felt responsible for helping fix it,” said Dupart-Harris.

Though painful for the client, it was serendipitous in retrospect. The situation fueled in Dupart-Harris the devotion to develop hair care products that regrow hair. She went on to become chief executive officer of hair care brand Kaleidoscope, in 2014.

Kaleidoscope’s bestseller is Miracle Drops, which Dupart-Harris says has produced “spectacular” results.

“Hearing how our Miracle Drops have helped people regrow hair—whether beards, edges, eyebrows or their crown—is what fuels us,” she said. “The results keep us going every day.”

Since its founding, the company has sold more than 10 million bottles of Miracle Drops.

Formulated with peppermint oil to promote healthy hair growth, aloe extract to moisturize hair follicles to prevent breakage and reduce shedding, and tea tree oil to cleanse and purify the scalp while fighting dryness and flakiness, the Miracle Drops formula absorbs quickly to help remove build-up while stimulating hair follicles and adding shine.

In 2017, Harris-Dupart retired as a stylist to focus on building her brand. Other products that have become top sellers include Miracle Drops Leave-In Conditioner and Da Brat SoSo Slick Braid and Grip Gel, named for her partner, rapper Da Brat. The gel delivers salon-quality hold and a sleek finish while nourishing hair with premium natural ingredients including ginger root extract, premium manuka honey, oak milk and omega-rich flaxseed.

Since its launch, Kaleidoscope has expanded from direct-to-consumer to Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Sally Beauty and beauty supplier stores across the country.

Paying It Forward

Harris-Dupart’s non-profit organization, Kaleidoscope Kares, aims to give back and foster dreams. It is focused on community empowerment, especially for women, children and non-traditional families, through mentorship, resources and acts of kindness. In 2020 during the covid pandemic, the nonprofit pledged $50,000 to connect Black girls with resources they need to continue distance learning.

In 2026, brand loyalists can expect “new surprises” from the Da Brat collection launching at Walmart.
