Procedure

Phase A—Add Phase A with mixing to main vessel and heat to 70°C to 75°C. Phase B—In a separate vessel, add phase B liquids and begin heating to 70°C to 75°C. At temperature, add Phase B to Phase A slowly and increase mixer speed to 500 to 600 rpm as needed to combine the two phases. Discontinue heat and begin cooling to 40°C to 45°C. Phase C—At 60°C to 65°C, add phase C to Phase AB. At 40°C to 45°C adjust as needed the pH using the KOH solution. Phase D—Add Phase D slowly to phase ABC. Phase E—Premix Phase E and add to main vessel. Allow to mix. Transfer to a suitable vessel when complete.

pH: 5.5 to 6.5 Viscosity: 60,000 to 70,000 cP spindle #4 @ 2.5 rpm (25°C) Appearance: White viscous cream.
