Procedure

Weigh Phase A and heat to 80-82°C. Prepare Phase B by hydrating and neutralizing polymer. Weigh Phase C in the main vessel and heat to 80-82°C. Add Phase B to C and mix. Add Phase A to the main vessel while mixing and emulsify. Maintain the temperature for 5 minutes. At 45°C, adjust pH between 5.0 and 6.0 with Phase D. Add Phase E and homogenize for 1 minute, if possible under vacuum. Mix gently until cool.

Properties

Appearance—Smooth and glossy cream; Color—White; Odor—Typical of rosemary; pH—5.5-6.0 at 20°C; Viscosity—25,000-30,000 cP at 20°C Brookfield Viscometer, Spindle 5, 12 rpm Centrifuge: No separation at RT for 30 min. 3,000 rpm; Stability—Stable for 5 freeze-thaw cycles, stable for 1 month at 45°C.
