Sally Hansen, MAC Cosmetics, P&G and Sally Beauty are among the beauty brands showing their support for the most colorful time of the year – Pride Month.

Pride Month celebrates the LGBTQ+ community with festive Pride parades held around the world. This year, beauty brands are waving their rainbow flags with limited-edition cosmetics releases and fundraisers in support of important causes affecting this demographic.

Sally Hansen x GLAAD Nail Polish Range

Sally Hansen has teamed with American non-governmental media monitoring organization GLAAD for a limited-edition Pride collection. The range of metallic polishes are reminiscent of the chrome nails trends in every color of the pride flag.

There are three press-on designs in the bi, trans and queer pride colors. The unique box packaging was designed by queer Brooklyn artist Shanée Benjamin.

For the sixth year, Sally Hansen has pledged to continue its alliance to help rewrite the narrative for LGBTQ+ acceptance. Since the partnership’s inception, Sally Hansen and Happi Top 50 Company Coty brands have donated more than $600,000 in support of GLAAD’s culture-changing work.

Sally Beauty Continues ‘Rooted In Success’ Series

Sally Beauty, a leader in professional hair color and care, has unveiled the next installment of the Rooted In Success event series supporting Pride Month. Following Rooted In Success events supporting Black History and Women’s History Months in March, Sally Beauty is celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with programming and events during June.

The retailer has partnered with Free Mom Hugs, a nonprofit that empowers the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through visibility, education and conversation. Volunteers will offer support at Sally Beauty Holdings Pride celebrations across the country in Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.

Sally Beauty will also host free Pride parties across New York City to help revelers ready for NYC Pride to help them look and feel their best. The pop-ups will foster community-building in a supportive environment where self-expression is encouraged and celebrated. Guests will be afforded the chance to win up to $500 in giveaways, complimentary Sally Beauty gift cards and products from XMondo, Eva NYC, Sally Hansen, Got2B, Ion and Strawberry Leopard.

Appearances will be made by professional hairstylist and XMondo founder Brad Mondo and Joey Jay and Jackie Cox, of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

MAC’s Viva Glam Celebrates 30 Years

Pride 2024 shares two special milestone anniversaries with Mac Cosmetics. The brand’s Viva Glam – a charitable initiative which donates to LGBT+ causes with limited-edition cosmetics – is celebrating 30 years as MAC celebrates 40 years in business.

This year, Viva Glam is expanding its mission with a new four-shade lipstick lineup to help raise another half-billion dollars by giving back 100% of the proceeds.

Helming Viva Glam’s anniversary campaign are music stars Kim Petras and Danna Paola. The campaign will celebrate the impact of the over $520 million the program has raised to date, while spotlighting the newly revamped four-shade lipstick lineup and expanded mission to support equal rights for all.

In addition to continuing its allegiance to give back to communities impacted by HIV/AIDS, Viva Glam will now be dedicated to driving equality across the following four areas: sexual, gender, racial and environmental equality.

P&G’s Collaboration with GLAAD

On May 11, GLAAD hosted its 35th Annual Media Awards to recognize those who have shown exceptional achievements for inclusive representation of the LGBTQ+ community with P&G among the companies in attendance.

“Our collaboration with P&G has uncovered invaluable insights brands and organizations should leverage in their marketing strategies to effectively reach the LGBTQ+ community,” said Meghan Bartley, GLAAD Media Institute senior director of agencies, brands and engagement. “Our partnership has revealed shared histories that have often been misunderstood or forgotten. It’s inspiring to see the progress we have made in LGBTQ+ representation across industries, but there is still more work to be done. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with P&G – one of the world’s largest advertisers – to continue this important work.”

Officials say P&G and GLAAD’s partnership champions equality while empowering other companies to support the LGBTQ+ segment and drive business growth.

Kiehl’s Partnership with the Ali Forney Center

Kiehl’s has launched a new global philanthropic initiative, Kiehl’s Open Doors, providing safe, temporary housing, as well as life tools and developmental resources to LGBTQIA2+ homeless youth.

“We’re proud to launch a platform that supports a community Kiehl’s has been passionate about protecting for decades,” said Jon Saenz, Kiehl’s global brand president. “Some of our very own Skin Pros have suffered similar adversity after coming out. We want to bring awareness to this issue, while ultimately helping to reduce the number of LGBTQIA2+ youth on the streets.”

To support the mission, Kiehl’s has partnered with the Ali Forney Center, a nonprofit that provides LGBTQIA2+ youth with warm, supportive environments to escape the streets and prepare them for independent living. Their services include a 24-7 drop-in center, transitional housing, job readiness training and health resources.

Kiehl’s has committed to donating $150,000 to the Ali Forney Center. This donation will help provide safe, temporary housing as well as life-saving and developmental services to over 2,200 LGBTQIA2+ homeless youth.

Beekman 1802’s Pride-Themed Skincare Set

Beekman 1802 has launched its limited-edition 2024 Bloom with Pride Skincare Set. It features its best-selling Bloom Cream Daily Moisturizer plus a rainbow of targeted serum boosters made with clinically proven and sensitive skin-safe ingredients including the Dream Booster with Bakuchiol (four times less irritating than retinol) and the Golden Booster with Amla Berry (10 times more Vitamin C than an orange, per the brand).

“As one of the few companies in the world founded by a gay-married couple, we feel a responsibility to be role models and a resource to youth who might see parts of their own future in our story. The tumult surrounding Pride last year left many companies scaling back on their Pride initiatives this year, so at Beekman 1802, we knew we needed to make our biggest Pride kit yet. You can’t hide Pride,” said Josh Kilmer-Purcell & Dr. Brent Ridge, co-founders of Beekman 1802.

Beekman 1802 continues to partner with The Ali Forney Center and donate 100% of profits from the Bloom with Pride Kit to support their work.

The Bloom with Pride Skincare Set retails for $59 and comes with a free Goatie Pride Pin and is now available online at Beekman1802.com and Ulta.com and Ulta locations across the country, while supplies last.
