Comforts of Home On the Go with Wanderluxe

Frequent traveler Kimberly Currie knows the ick factor that sometimes comes with travel. 

Traversing customs at the airport on a recent business trip, the licensed esthetician, Oui Beauty founder and new product consultant was lost in a daydream about washing her face in the comfort of home, when it hit her: what if she could lather up with a beloved facial cleanser on-the-go. 

Enter Wanderluxe, and its dissolvable, paper-thin “petals” that when mixed in water deliver on-the-go facial care. Likened to Listerine’s strips that melt on the tongue to eliminate bad breath, Wanderluxe’s circle- and flower-shaped solid format sheets fully dissolve when mixed with water and take the form of facial care products that cleanse, treat and moisturize. 

“The idea of dissolvables is not new, per se, however, putting them into a high-powered, beneficial formulations is,” Currie told Happi. 

Wanderluxe’s roster has three products—a moisturizer, cleanser and serum.

The dissolvable petals are made from a natural, non-synthetic, sustainably-sourced base formulation comprised of pectin and cellulose gum. 

Wanderluxe’s hero product, BHA Away Deep Pore Cleanser, contains hero actives like salicylic acid to purge pores of excess sebum and niacinamide to hydrate parched skin. On the Glow is a 0.5% hyaluronic acid serum also formulated with niacinamide. Currie dubs the formulas as “non-oil-based hydration agents” that target traveler skin that is dry, dull and breakout prone. 

Currie’s “hope and quest for convenience” wasn’t just about cleansing goals, it can lighten burdensome luggage for long-haul travelers. 

“You’ll be able to take a full month’s worth of products in less space and lighter than a deck of cards,” she noted.

And there are more options in the pipeline.

Wanderluxe is finalizing a body wash, shampoo-conditioner combo and moisturizer, all slated for Spring 2025 release on wanderluxeskin.com.
