World Perfumery Congress Is June 23-25 in California

Innovators from Interparfums, L'Oréal, Boy Smells, L'Occitane, Pura, P&G and more will explore strategies shaping modern perfumery.

WPC 2026 will take place at the Monterey Conference Center.

The World Perfumery Congress (WPC)—hosted by the American Society of Perfumers on June 23-25 at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, CA—will bring together the global fragrance community for an exploration and celebration of fragrance artistry, science, technology and business. Global leaders and innovators from Interparfums, Inc., L’Oréal, Boy Smells, L’Occitane Group, Snif, Euromonitor, Pura, Procter & Gamble and more will take the stage to showcase the ideas, ingredients, technologies and strategies shaping modern perfumery.

The WPC expo hall will connect the fragrance supply chain.

The WPC is designed for professionals across the fragrance value chain. Events include keynote conversations and immersive perfumer workshops, panel discussions, awards and networking opportunities in unique settings.

In addition, the American Society of Perfumers (ASP) will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to John Gamba, senior perfumer at Givaudan. The award honors an individual whose career has left a lasting mark on the art and culture of perfumery.

WPC 2026 Schedule

Below is a look at the 2026 WPC schedule, as of March 14, 2026:

June 23

  • Keynote Fireside Chat with Walter Johnsen, global vice president of product development and fine fragrance designer, Interparfums, Inc.
  • Nose to Nose: A Scented Exchange—Mara Dumski (chief fragrance experience officer at Pura) and Carol Hamilton (group president, acquisitions at L’Oréal). 
  • Crafting Tomorrow: Innovation at the Intersection of Brand & Buyer—Leaders from Boy Smells, L’Occitane Group and Snif will discuss how brands are redefining product formats, digital engagement, sustainability, and retail strategy to remain agile and resonant in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
  • Scented Journeys: Unique Paths to Perfumery—Featuring Terry Carter (founder and perfumer, Travertine Atelier); Dana El Masri (perfumer, Jazmin Saraϊ), Lorenzo Lou (founder and chief perfumer, Möbius Fragrances) and Bryn Thomas (junior perfumer, Mane).

June 24

  • Euromonitor Explores the Evolving Landscape of Arabian Fragrances—Kayla Villena, global insights manager of beauty and personal care at Euromonitor International, returns to the WPC stage to examine growth prospects and emerging opportunities across global regions, drawing on insights from Euromonitor’s Dubai research hub.
  • Digital Alchemy: Fragrance Formulation in the Age of AI—Representatives from The Perfume Movement, Matteo Parfums and Ārya Tārā will discuss how artificial intelligence and advanced analytics are transforming fragrance creation—from predictive modeling to personalized scent development) enhancing creativity while preserving olfactive integrity.
  • From Screen to Scent: How Digital Trends and Social Influence Drive Fragrance Buying—Moderated by Ildiko Juhasz of Fashion Institute of Technology, experts from Scent Marketing, Inc., Tru Fragrance & Beauty and Victoria’s Secret & Co. will explore how digital commerce, AI-powered recommendations, and Gen Z consumer behavior are reshaping fragrance discovery and retail experiences.
  • What’s That Smell—Inspired by The Perfume Room this interactive panel features Christine Hassan (perfumer, Givaudan), Nicole Mancini (perfumer, dsm-firmenich) and Tianle Feng (founder and in-house perfumer) Voice from the Sky. The discussion will explore how perfumers interpret abstract concepts—such as sunshine, diamonds, or limerence—and whether AI has a place in creative briefs.

June 25

  • From Protocol to Palette: Creativity in the Age of Compliance—Panelists will include Vincent Kuczinski (vice president/senior perfumer, Mane); Alexander Mohr, (president of International Fragrance Association) and Sarah Erickson André (vice president of government affairs & general counsel, Fragrance Creators Association). This session examines how evolving global regulations influence fragrance creativity and compliance.
  • Fragrance in the Fabric of Life: Innovation Across Laundry, Home & Cleaning—Moderated by Jennifer Abril, president and CEO of the American Cleaning Institute, this session will feature leaders from Laundry Sauce and Procter & Gamble who will explore emerging trends, scent-driven consumer engagement, and the science behind functional fragrance innovation.
  • World Perfumery Congress Awards—Presentation of the American Society of Perfumers Lifetime Achievement Award, and the inaugural WPC Exhibitor Awards will recognize excellence in areas such as Most Innovative Ingredient, Standout Fragrance Technology and Eco Champion.
  • Closing Reception & Dinner at Monterey Bay Aquarium.
