Google searches for “Euro summer” has seen a 153% rise in the past year and the hashtag #eurosummer has exploded on TikTok with 497.7 million views, according to women's fashion company Boohoo. The rise in searches for a European summer trip has come alongside Alix Earles' three-week trip to Europe, which included visiting Ibiza, Italy and Greece. Earles’ documented her outfits throughout with videos one of which was simply pegged, “Outfits I Wore in Greece,” which itself has gained 555,4000 likes to date.  

 

One of the main aesthetics that is trending due to the surge in European vacations is the “tomato girl summer” as the hashtag has been viewed 8.1 million times on TikTok. The tomato girl look is based on Mediterranean fashion style, where tomato-based dishes are popular. Think destinations such as the Amalfi Coast or Barcelona streets and a wardrobe of light and breezy clothing, including linen, crochet and ruffles and sun-blushed skin.

According to fashion experts at Boohoo, tomato girl makeup is trending, reaching more than 4 million views on TikTok. However, there are ways to achieve the vacation blush without undue sun exposure. Faking a vacation blush is a great option to protect skin while creating that summer glow, according to the experts. The basics of tomato girl summer makeup can be done by applying skincare and SPF to create a naturally healthy skin luminosity and then working with a rosy cream blusher across cheeks and nose. To complete the complexion, faux freckles can be added, which can be achieved with a liquid freckle pen or brown eyeliner.
