Susonity Joins Global New Material International Holdings

The transaction closed on July 31 in a 665-million-euro cash deal.

Susonity has officially become part of Global New Material International Holdings Ltd. (GNMI).

The transaction closed on July 31 with ownership transferring from Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany to GNMI, in a 665-million-euro cash deal.

With the acquisition, Susonity will further expand its global reach and pigment portfolio. The company aims to offer a complete range of solutions, from premium, high-end products to large-scale, technology-driven applications.

Together, we are strongly positioned to drive growth in a dynamic and fast-evolving market.”

Susonity, formerly the Surface Solutions division of Merck KGaA, is headquartered in Gernsheim, Germany. The company is a market leader in premium effect pigments and active ingredients for automotive, cosmetic and industrial applications.

Susonity employs approximately 1,100 people worldwide, including over 600 in Germany. Key manufacturing sites are in Germany, Japan and the US. As part of its global strategy, the company plans to establish regional headquarters in EMEA, North America, and Asia Pacific, supported by a robust international production footprint.
