Spate wasn’t kidding when it said food was among 2025’s top three rules of beauty, besides sensorial splurges and longevity.

Per the beauty trend tracker’s popularity index, cherry cola and milk tea aren’t just preferred beverages on a spring afternoon. Consumers want their hair colored with the hues… and tall glasses!

Cherry Cola

Cherry cola hair has surged in popularity, growing by +265.3% compared to last year, and across platforms. TikTok owns this trend, capturing 57.5% of its Popularity Share. On TikTok alone, cherry cola hair has grown by +309.0% compared to last year, averaging 2.3 million weekly views. Meanwhile, Google searches for the trend have increased by +219.1%, with an average of 11.5K monthly searches. Consumers are turning to the internet for inspiration and product recommendations to achieve this look at home.

On TikTok, there’s also significant interest in professional expertise, as reflected in the popularity of #hairstylist, which averages 296.1K weekly views alongside cherry cola hair. This growing demand presents a major opportunity for brands and salons to position themselves as experts in cherry cola hair, whether through stylist services or at-home color kits. Just like Coca-Cola’s extensive flavor lineup, this trend has its own variations, including black cherry cola, dark cherry cola and chocolate raspberry cherry cola hair colors.

While these shades tend to be darker, the shift into warmer months presents an opportunity for brands to introduce lighter interpretations, catering to the seasonal desire for hair refreshes, analysts say.

Milk Tea

Instead of choosing between boba or lychee jelly, the latest milk tea craze is its rise as a popular hair color trend.

This trend has grown by +42.2% compared to last year, and across platforms. Google Search dominates this trend, holding 66.3% of the Popularity Share. On Google Search, interest has grown by +56.6% over the past year, while on TikTok, the trend has seen a +20.4% increase, averaging 669.4K weekly views and 7.1K monthly searches on Google. Consumers are actively searching for variants like milk tea grey, ash milk tea, Earl grey milk tea hair color and milk tea ash brown hair colors. This suggests they aren’t fixed in their preferences, leaving plenty of opportunity for brands to innovate and create their own interpretations, analysts say. There’s also room to explore entirely new colorways, like matcha milk tea or strawberry milk tea.

On TikTok, one of the top related hashtags is #hairtransformation. The audience wants to see how different everyone looks post-treatment, creating an opportunity for brands and salons to post more transformation content. Analysts say offering customers a discount in exchange for allowing them to be filmed and featured on social media could be a win-win strategy. Clink-clink!
