Serge Rogasik of BASF Promoted to Vice President

• BASF: named Serge Rogasik as vice president, plastic additives in North America. He will be based in Florham Park, NJ. Rogasik had been director of corporate strategy for BASF in North America since 2009.
A beauty industry veteran, Rogasik started his career in R&D with Colgate-Palmolive in Belgium prior to moving into several assignments in marketing, M&A and strategy with several chemical and plastic companies in Europe and in the U.S. He joined BASF in 2006 as global director of marketing for the Beauty Care Solutions business unit of BASF Care Chemicals.
• Arch Personal Care: hired Suellen Bennett as the global manager of technical marketing. In this role, she will drive concept development and the execution of global launch products for personal care ingredients, according to the company.
Most recently, Bennett was the marketing manager for skin care and makeup at Croda Inc. Through the years, she has held sales and marketing positions at GE Advanced Materials, Biosil Technologies and Brooks Industries. She started her career as a microbiologist at Estée Lauder Companies.
Bennett is active in the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and currently holds the position of Area I Director.
• Carrubba: promoted Stacy Fernandez to sales manager, Western Region. Also, James Yannella was promoted to senior research director of technology and perfumery.
• Dotcom Distribution: named a new business development manager, David Del Pizzo. He will be responsible for all new business, with an emphasis on personal care, cosmetics and beauty. Del Pizzo was most recently with Accupac Inc. as account general manager and previously with Medicia Corp. for 18 years as vice president of sales and marketing.
Dotcom Distribution also hired Len Westermann as director of operations. He has more than 15 years of experience in high-end retail, B2B, B2C and pharmaceutical distribution, according to the company. A mechanical engineer and certified project management professional, he will be responsible for operations quality and continual improvement. Westermann was most recently at HealthBridge, a division of Express Scripts, and prior to that with Coty, Unilever and Calvin Klein.
• Consumer Product Testing Company: appointed Angie Inouye as the director of business development, based on the West Coast. She will specifically support the western U.S., Canada and South America regions.
Most recently, Inouye worked as director of business development for an OTC contract manufacturer. For nearly two decades, she worked with a GMP testing laboratory, providing sales support and developing marketing strategies for the pharma/biotech, medical device and OTC/personal care regulated industries.
Inouye is an active Beauty Industry West board member and also the chair for the SCC California 2011 Suppliers Day event.
• MAC Cosmetics: named Gordon Espinet its senior vice president of global artist training, development and makeup artistry.
In this newly created role, Espinet will work closely with the global artist training and development team to oversee education for the brand’s makeup artists. Among his first tasks will be developing a comprehensive strategy to translate MAC’s backstage work at global fashion weeks to retail.
• TPR Holdings: named beauty industry veteran Neil J. Katz as a special advisor to evaluate acquisitions and other issues. He assumed the role on Feb. 1.
Prior to this appointment, Katz was president and chief executive officer of Parlux Fragrances. He began his career in 1977 at Revlon and has worked for a variety of companies.
• Ajinomoto U.S.A., Inc.: promoted Jayson Goodner to regional sales manager-East Coast. Prior to joining Ajinomoto in 2008, Goodner held R&D positions at TRI-K Industries, Avon, Air Products and Ashland Chemicals. He has more than 10 years of experience in the specialty chemicals industry.
• Essential Ingredients: hired Julio Arce as sales manager for Latin America. In this role, he will be managing Essential’s Latin American territory, according to the company.
Arce started his chemical career as an analytical chemist at Hoechst Celanese Corporation, which was later acquired by Clariant Corporation. He worked in various positions at Clariant, most recently as a regional key account manager.
