Nikaeta Sadekar,PhD, DABT, principal scientists and supervisor, scientific education and impact, will present the Research Institute for Fragrance Material’s (RIFM) Respiratory Program “Unpacked: Advancing Fragrance Safety Through a Next Generation Assessment Framework and Research Insights” at the DGK/IKW Seminar for Safety Assessors on April 30 at 3 pm.

The session will take a closer look at how RIFM is advancing fragrance inhalation safety through an integrated, forward-looking approach. At its core is a next-generation assessment framework designed to reflect real-world exposure considerations while aligning with evolving scientific and regulatory expectations.

Drawing on collaborative research and a growing body of scientific insight, the presentation will explore how RIFM’s respiratory program supports more informed, transparent decision-making. It will also address the role of scientific foresight and regulatory readiness in maintaining confidence in safety assessments and enabling responsible innovation across the fragrance industry.

Dr. Sadekar will highlight how these elements come together in practice, shaping a structured and credible path forward for respiratory safety.

“Progress in respiratory safety depends on collaboration, scientific foresight and regulatory readiness,” said Dr. Sadekar. “RIFM’s program brings these elements together to help shape a sustainable and credible path forward for the fragrance industry.”
