SkinSpecific addresses acne, hyperpigmentation and aging.

Proven, a leader in personalized skincare that leverages AI to create customized beauty products, is lifting the veil off its newest collection: SkinSpecific.
The new line of skincare solutions targets specific skincare concerns utilizing professional-grade routines powered by the brand’s data-driven expertise.
The collection builds on the success of its personalized formulas, first introduced in 2017. Since then, the brand has raised $12.2 million in Series A funding to support its growth and stay on-trend with AI-powered beauty products and launched in Sephora. In 2022, the brand was awarded a US patent for its personalization process.
SkinSpecific tackles three of the most common skin concerns: acne, hyperpigmentation and aging. What’s more, the launch marks the first time consumers can access the brand’s proprietary Skin Health Index via ready-made products designed for specific needs. The index is a comprehensive, data-driven engine analyzing over 20,000 ingredients, 28 million customer reviews, 4,000 scientific papers, information about 100,000 individual skincare products and environmental and lifestyle factors affecting skin health.
Each SkinSpecific routine features a streamlined, three-step system consisting of a cleanser, SPF and night cream formulated with the brand’s Skin Health Index. While Proven continues to offer fully personalized formulations through an in-depth skin assessment quiz, SkinSpecific provides immediate solutions for the most common concerns. This dual approach allows customers to experience the brand’s scientific methodology through targeted routines, serving as a gateway to the brand’s personalized solutions and expanding its reach to a broader audience, officials said.
“Our philosophy has always been that skincare shouldn’t be complicated, it should be precisely what your skin needs,” said Dr. Amy Yuan, cofounder and chief technology officer of Proven. “With SkinSpecific, we’re addressing the most common skin concerns using the wealth of knowledge from our Skin Health Index database. We’ve thoughtfully formulated each collection, creating effective solutions that work in harmony with your skin.”
The Acne routine offers a targeted routine for managing breakout-prone skin. The Acne Treatment Cleanser combines three powerful yet gentle acids: anti-inflammatory salicylic acid for surface and pore exfoliation; azelaic acid to address post-inflammatory discoloration; and mandelic acid that helps improve skin texture. The Clarifying Night Cream features a retinoid formula that stimulates cell renewal and regeneration to help improve skin clarity and elasticity. This potent treatment is blended with sulfur to promote the shedding of dead skin cells and niacinamide to help boost collagen production, while reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation and supporting the skin’s barrier function. Completing the acne routine, the SPF provides essential daily protection with gentle zinc oxide for protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays, while nourishing Jojoba Seed Oil mimics the skin’s natural oils to maintain hydration without clogging pores.
The Hyperpigmentation routine addresses existing discoloration while helping prevent the worsening appearance of uneven tone. The cleanser features a gentle yet powerful exfoliating anti-inflammatory acid, azelaic acid, paired with soothing allantoin to provide moisturizing and skin-softening benefits. The night cream combines retinoid and niacinamide that accelerates cell turnover while actively diminishing pigmentation, and a trio of targeted brightening agents: arbutin for brown dark spots, tranexamic acid to prevent new dark spots from sun exposure, and kojic acid to inhibit pigment formation while alsoproviding antioxidant protection. The SPF rounds out the range, offering broad-spectrum UVA/UVB coverage and supporting healthy barrier function.
The Anti-Aging routine targets signs of aging through a three-step approach. The cleanser preps skin with glycerin, a moisturizing humectant that supports healthy barrier function, combined with mandelic acid for gentle exfoliation and smoothness, plus Tazman pepper to calm any potential irritation. The night cream delivers advanced anti-aging actives, including retinoid to stimulate cell turnover to help improve clarity and elasticity, niacinamide to help boost collagen while minimizing dark spots and peptides that specifically reduce wrinkle depth and density by further stimulating collagen synthesis. Finally, the SPF safeguards against environmental aging factors through gentle zinc oxide, delivering protection from damaging UVA & UVB radiation, enhanced with jojoba seed oil for moisturization and hydrating glycerin. The SkinSpecific kits retail for $119.99 on Amazon and will launch on provenskincare.com later this year.
As part of the SkinSpecific launch, Proven has formed a strategic partnership with Opportunities, Inc., a nonprofit organization with over 50 years of experience empowering individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment. The organization’s expertise in packaging, fulfillment and warehouse management enables direct shipping to Amazon FBA, streamlining distribution while supporting Proven’s commitment to social responsibility. This partnership reflects the brand’s dedication to creating a positive impact beyond skincare, aligning business operations with its core values of accessibility and inclusion.
