China Raises Tariffs on U.S. Products to 84%

As a cat and mouse game of the tariffs ensues as Trump raises the stakes on all Chinese imports.

One day before China’s Finance Ministry will activate its imposition of a 34% tariff on all goods imported from the US, President Trump is firing back.

At midnight on April 10, the US President is set to impose at least 104% tariffs across all Chinese imports in response to Beijing’s retaliation, per reports.

China’s retaliation stems from President Trump’s recent imposition of 10%-15% tariffs on some US agriculture goods in March and 10%-15% tariffs on some energy and farming machinery in February.

Today, China said it is raising its tariffs on U.S. products to 84%, up from its previously announced 34%.

President Donald Trump announced a complete three-month pause on all the “reciprocal” tariffs that went into effect at midnight, with the exception of China, later on April 9.
