New Addition to Lonza Inc.’s Personal Care Unit



Lonza Inc.: 

Craig Carter has joined Lonza Inc. as NAFTA marketing manager for personal care. He will provide marketing support for Lonza Inc.’s personal care preservative and specialty chemical businesses. He has a range of sales and marketing experience in the personal care area.

Rexam:

Rexam promoted Tony Cecchinato to vice president of sales for the U.S. dispensing systems business. Responsible for the sales of existing and new products in fragrance and lotion dispensing and sampling products and closures, Mr. Cecchinato will lead Rexam’s team of external account managers and inside sales assistants.

 McChesney of Novapak
Novapak:

Novapak appointed Dan McChesney as the regional sales manager of Novapak Corporation. Mr. McChesney will cover the New York, New Jersey as well as  Eastern Pennsylvania metro area by promoting the company’s blow molded containers to personal care, healthcare, household, food, automotive and chemical product manufacturers. Prior to joining Novapak, Mr. McChesney served as national accounts manager for Graham Packaging Company.

All Pak:

All Pak Inc. appointed Chris Peretti and Wendy Walnola to customer service supervisors in the Custom Solutions division.

Three new additions include, Bridget Fitzpatrick, filling the role of sales assistant within the Custom Solutions division, Robert Johnson accepting the position of regional sales representative and Mary Ann Davis, customer care representative of the Global Supply Division.

 Fern of Presperse
Presperse:

Two account managers as well as a sales consultant join Presperse Inc. in the Northeast. Bob Fern joined Presperse in the new employee training program. With over 15 years of sales and marketing experience,   the majority of his career spent with leading flavor and gragrance companies Mr. Fern will be resposible for a number of accounts in the Northeast.

Jennifer Troeschel is in the training program at Presperse. Her 5 year background in the chemical industry with processing and formulating, global operations, and supplier management will accompany Ms. Troeschel’s account managemeng endeavors.

Marnie Roussel’s new role as sales and marketing consultant ensures that she will train and mentor new account managers, provide suport to regional sales agents and manage specific product launches.

Herbalife:

Herbalife, appointed Stacy Brovitz, senior vice president of global operations. With over 16 years experience in operations, supply chain management, manufacturing, information technology and finance, as chief operating officer of Dormont Manufacturing company, Mr. Brovitz will oversee Herbalife’s global supply chain and strategic sourcing, manufacturing, process improvement and technology, distribution and transportation and global licensing.

BioScreen:

Hemali Gunt Ph.D. joined BioScreen after completing both Master’s and Doctorate degrees in pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Gunt will focus on research in the clinical arena in addition to overseeing clinical trials for evaluating safety and efficacy of personal care products.

Randall Wickett, Ph.D. is the professor and director of the Cosmetic Science Program in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Wickett has entered into a consulting agreement with the company.

DKSH North America:

Jennifer R. Carlisle joins DKSH North America as junior product manager, food and personal care ingredients. Ms. Carlisle has a chemical background and will be responsible for product sales, development and introduction in the Northeast corridor.

Dow Chemical Company:

Dow Chemical announced that Janet Giesselman, vice president of Corporate Affairs for Dow AgroSciences (DAS), has been named vice president of the Dow Latex business. She will report to Romeo Kreinberg, executive vice president of Dow’s Performance Plastics and Chemicals portfolio, and will transition to her new role in the fourth quarter of 2006. Ms. Giesselman previously led Corporate Strategy, Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs and EH&S Product Stewardship at Dow.

Acuity:

Mary Bruce Edmonds has been promoted to vice president, Risk Management for Acuity Brands, Inc. Ms. Bruce joined the former parent company of Acuity Brands in July 1984 as a risk analyst/project manager.

Frutarom:

Frutarom USA Inc., appointed George Parsons as account executive, serving existing and new flavor, fragrance and consumer packaged goods customers in the Northeast. Mr. Parsons previously held senior sales positions at Tilley Chemical, DSM Food Specialties, Elite Spice Company, FIDCO and Durkee Industrial Foods.


Fantastic Sams:

Fantastic Sams appointed Jeff Sturgis, vice president of franchise sales and development and Catherine Saar vice president of marketing.

Ms. Saar has 20 years of marketing and branding experience and will lead and develop the company’s overall marketing and product strategy. She will manage corporate brand development and external communications and is responsible for advertising, marketing communications and public relations. 
 
Mr. Sturgis, with 10 years of experience in the areas of franchise sales and development, will oversee system wide franchise development activities. Prior to joining Fantastic Sams, Mr. Sturgis was responsible for developing, creating and implementing the strategic direction for growth of Carvel and Cinnabon.


Firmenich: 

Firmenich International SA elected Yves Boisdron and Vernon Sankey to its board of directors at the shareholders’ annual general meeting in Geneva.  Yves Boisdron, a French national and engineer lead specialty chemicals group at Rhodia (formerly Rhone-Poulenc).

Vernon Sankey, a British national and Oxford University graduate built a career with Reckitt & Colman PLC before it merged with Dutch firm, Benckser N.V. He was president of French operation and group director for North America before taking over as chief executive officer. He has since focused on numerous board positions.

Tess:

Tess (Teen Everyday Skincare System) announced that Jean Hoehn Zimmerman, former executive vice president of chanel beaute and fragrance has joined the company’s board of directors. Ms. Zimmerman will bring global expertise in the areas of long-range planning, new product development, marketing, promotions, public relations, creative strategy, sales and corporate advertising to the Tess brand. TESS products contain paraben-free blends of pure and natural, fruit and botanical extracts, essential oils, and vitamins to cleanse, tone, moisturize and protect teenage skin. The Tess brand offers day to night skincare kits that feature instructions and an array of a la carte products.

Nutracea:

Nutracea has appointed Joseph Gutman, M.D. to its Medical Advisory Board and as a strategic consultant. He will assist the Company in the areas of scientific research, clinical studies and product development. Dr. Gutman has served as a medical consultant on various healthcare issues, including consulting for several professional sports teams. NutraCea enables the creation of food and nutrition products rice bran, normally a waste by-product of standard rice processing.


Clorox:

Clorox entered an employment agreement in which Donald Knauss has stepped into the role of chairman and chief executive officer. Under the terms of the agreement, Mr. Knauss, 55, will receive, among other things, an annual base salary of $950,000 and a sign-on cash bonus of $500,000. On his first day of employment, he received a ten-year option to purchase 275,000 shares of common stock and 83,500 restricted stock units that will vest over four years. The closing price of the common stock of Clorox on October 2nd was $63.21 per share, giving him an unrealized gain of about 1.9% on his potential new holdings.
