Chair John Carola hosts breakfast with the Florida SCC Chapter and the International Beauty Association.

NYSCC Suppliers’ Day and partnerships were on the menu when the New York Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) hosted a breakfast during Cosmoprof Miami last month. NYSCC Chair John Carola told attendees the event celebrated the power of collaboration and the partnerships that drive success in the beauty and personal care industry.
The breakfast attracted about 70 beauty industry executives, including Florida Chapter SCC Chair Krupa Koestline and Independent Beauty Association President and CEO Don Frey.
“As many of you know, the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day and the Florida Chapter of SCC are committed to fostering learning, growth, innovation and advancing cosmetic science,” said Carola. “Our partnership with IBA only strengthens our mission, providing a platform where creativity, sustainability and the latest trends come together to move the industry forward.”
Carola noted that success in the cosmetics industry doesn’t happen in isolation.
“It’s about forging meaningful relationships that generate growth, spark new ideas and open up exciting opportunities,” he said. “Whether it’s collaboration between suppliers and manufacturers, scientists and formulators or brands and influencers, these partnerships are what propel our industry to success.”
The NYSCC has a full slate of activities planned for 2025. The star attraction, of course, is NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, which will be held June 3 and 4 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Dubbed “the Nexus of Science and Beauty,” the event will attract thousands of chemists from around the world. The Florida SCC and IBA will also be present there and it will be a place where innovation, technology, and artistry intersect to create products that not only enhance beauty but transform lives, too, according to Carola.
Besides a full calendar of NYSCC events, 2025 will include the Florida SCC Chapter’s biannual Sunscreen Symposium, September 18-20 at Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL. Meanwhile, IBA’s event schedule kicks off with a networking reception at Luxe Pack in Los Angeles on February 12.
“The beauty industry is built on this very foundation—where the creativity of beauty professionals meets the expertise of science and formulation. And when these worlds collide, the results are nothing short of extraordinary,” Carola concluded.
