Biotech skincare brand Mother Science has hatched its third proprietary product, Molecular Genesis Barrier Repair Moisturizer.

Touted a breakthrough product that works at the cellular level to fortify and repair the skin barrier, it uses Malassezin, which works through a novel pathway that has evolved for over 600 million years.

Mother Science Molecular Genesis Barrier Repair Moisturizer targets skin barrier repair in six ways for long-term hydration, smooth and radiant skin and protection against visible signs of aging including pulling and binding more water to the skin barrier and forming a protective layer over the barrier to lock in water.

In utilizing Malassezin’s unique multi-pathway approach, it strengthens barrier cells by increasing essential proteins that make up the barrier and improving their linkage; boosts lipid production for superior water retention; and activates skin’s antioxidant defenses against damaging free radicals related to skin barrier breakdown.

Other key ingredients include synthetic growth factors that mimic those found naturally in skin to increase collagen and support elastin and visibly diminish fine lines and wrinkles while firming skin; copper peptides to visibly firm skin, improves fine lines and wrinkles while reducing redness to soothe skin; hyaluronic acid to bind water to the skin barrier for short-term hydration and helps regenerate lipids to support skin barrier for long-term hydration; squalane, which acts as an emollient providing a protective barrier to the skin in the short-term and acts as an antioxidant to neutralize free radicals and support skin barrier health long-term; and lipid concentrate to help restore the lipids in the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss to increase hydration.
