Hair care indie brand to watch K18 has leveraged years of biotech research in the launch of its latest innovation, a Molecular Repair Mask.

HeatBounce is reportedly among the first intelligent heat defense systems in haircare built on years of biotech research into how nature protects itself from thermal stress. Powered by its new proprietary molecule ResiliCore, inspired by flexible crystalline proteins found in the human body, HeatBounce works from the inside-out, activating with heat to reinforce the hair’s internal structure at the cortex where damage begins.

While traditional formulas act like rubberized raincoats, coating the outside but not doing enough to defend against internal breakdown, HeatBounce changes that with lightweight, breathable, responsive protection that continues to work after styling. Situations include UV exposure, daily wear and mechanical stress.

The weightless cream-to-mist shields up to 450°F and delivers instant conditioning and detangling. A staple in the kits of top stylists like Devante Turnbull, whose clientele includes Grammy winning artist SZA, the face of the HeatBounce campaign), it’s the essential final step, the makers say, in the K18 system—post-mask, pre-style—for healthy, resilient, “bounce-back” hair.

Molecular Repair Mask is available at K18Hair.com and Sephora.com.
