"If we don't empower ourselves with knowledge, then we're gonna be led down a garden path," says Drescher.

Laura Geller’s hero Spackle Skin Primer was developed 21 years ago to deliver a flawless, healthy glow.

Now, the cosmetics brand, designed to perfect skin in makeup users in the 40+ age group, has added broad spectrum SPF 30 to the formula to turn up sun protection in the promotion of healthier skin.

Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer SPF 30, $38, is formulated with chemical and mineral ingredients.

The new primer, Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30, is designed to be worn as a base under makeup, or by itself for a healthy glow. It’s formulated with chemical and mineral ingredients.

Formulated with hyaluronic acid, squalene, sunflower seed oil and rosehip oil, it hydrates and nourishes mature skin while vitamin E protects against damaging free radicals and pollution. Antioxidants such as camellia sinensis extract and centella asiatica help soothe and brighten the complexion as well as minimize the look of pores, fine lines and imperfections. Plus, SPF Spackle is reef-friendly, water- and sweat-resistant and goes on invisible on all skin tones.

Sun Safety with Ambassador Fran Drescher

To mark the launch, the brand has recruited longtime ambassador, actress Fran Drescher, founder of her nonprofit, Cancer Schmancer. The actress will spotlight the importance of daily SPF and cancer prevention.

In support of the cause, the brand has made a donation to Cancer Schmancer, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to skin cancer awareness.

Spackle Skin Protecting Primer SPF 30 has earned a seal from the National Psoriasis Foundation and Skin Cancer Foundation. It retails for $38 on laurageller.com.
