Beauty enthusiasts are beating the heat with these face-cooling products.
July 29, 2025

Heat waves ruled July 2025, but beauty enthusiasts were armed with facial products to keep cool.
According to Spate’s Popularity Index, consumers were keeping their faces cool and hydrated with cryo masks and face mists. These products led the top-growing skincare trends to fight the heatwave in the US.
Face mists are growing by +44.6% compared to last year, and across platforms. On Search, the trend is up +41.4% from last year, and on TikTok, it’s up +59.5%. Google holds most the trend’s Popularity Share at 79.4%, with an average of 28.2K monthly searches. On TikTok, views hover around 1.2 million per week. Consumers love their portability, refreshing quality and ease of use. While branded searches are strong, the top search is face mist, suggesting consumers are more format-curious than brand loyal. On Search, popular picks range from thermal water sprays like Avene to calming options like La Roche-Posay’s Cicaplast Spray and bronzing mists like St. Tropez.
On TikTok, #peterthomasroth leads the branded hashtags with 221.4K weekly views, thanks to the brand’s Water Drench Ice-Facial Cooling Mist. The related hashtag #summeressential (78K weekly views) shows just how closely face mists are being tied to seasonal skincare routines.
Cryo masks have a deep cooling effect on the skin and help to depuff, cool and calm, especially amid July’s intermittent heatwaves. Cryo masks have grown by +155.1% compared to last year, and across platforms, analysts say. On Search, the trend is up +201.9% compared to last year, and TikTok is seeing a +13.2% increase. The trend is primarily driven by Google, which owns 89% of the trend’s Popularity Share and receives 1.6K average monthly searches. On TikTok, cryo masks pull in nearly 1 million average weekly views. On Search, top brands riding this trend include Dr. Jart+ and Lancôme, both of which lean into cryo as a hero concept.
On TikTok, the most-viewed branded hashtag is #somebymi (116.1K average weekly views), thanks to the brand’s viral PDRN Spirulina Soothing Sherbet Mask. #PDRN is also the top related ingredient hashtag (115.9K average weekly views), reflecting the surge in US interest around K-beauty and Some by Mi specifically. PDRN continues to see over 1,000% year-over-year (YoY) growth in the US, highlighting the staying power of Korean skincare innovation. #Skingym also ranks high, showing consumer interest in reusable masks in addition to one-time-use options. Analysts say there’s a clear opportunity for brands to position cryo masks as the ultimate summer essential to combat heat-induced inflammation. #Summerhack and #sunburn are climbing as top hashtags, showing consumer desire for instant relief.
