Cosmetify has released its new 2024 Hair Care Report, highlighting the most popular brands, products, hair influencers and celebrity hairstyles.
Color Wow’s Dream Coat Anti-Humidity Hair Spray holds the top spot with a 50% rise in searches, increasing from 658,000 to 984,500. Per analysts, this product is well-regarded for its ability to block humidity and keep hairstyles smooth, reflected in its strong social media presence, particularly on Instagram, where it appears in 46,057 posts. Hair care influencer Chris Appleton has significantly impacted the popularity of this product, appearing in some of the 10,300 TikTok posts.
The Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo is in second place with a 236% increase in annual searches, growing from 658,400 to 2.2 million searches. This significant surge indicates its rising popularity among consumers. Its strong presence on social media – particularly on TikTok with 561 posts – suggests it is a favorite among influencers and users alike. Amika’s Dry Shampoo is known for its ability to refresh and revitalize hair without water.
Moroccanoil Treatment saw a 40% increase in annual searches, from 218,300 to 304,800, while Olaplex’s No. 7 Bonding Oil saw a 16% increase. Both products also saw substantial popularity on Instagram, appearing in 32,812 and 19,714 posts, respectively, showing how popular and well-recommended they are by users. Moroccanoil and Olaplex have gained a cult following in the world of hair care and are known for their transformative and reparative effects on all hair types.
The study also revealed that Kérastase is the most popular hair care brand with 12.8 million annual searches, increasing by a quarter from last year.
Chris Appleton is the most popular haircare influencer, with almost 2 million searches, more than double the previous year.
The most common hair care-related question is “How to grow hair faster,” with over 1.3 million searches.
