Brenntag Specialties has inked a distribution agreement with BiCT, a leading European biotechnology company.

The collaboration introduces Lactive – an award-winning skincare ingredient that is a sustainable and effective alternative to synthetic formulations – to the beauty and personal care industries in Iberia and Italy.

Lactive is the bioactivated form of lactoferrin, a natural milk protein with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. Per company officials, it helps to rebalance the skin’s microbiome and is therefore ideal for acne-prone skin. It strengthens the skin barrier for skin prone to atopic dermatitis and prevents skin-aging by promoting regeneration and resilience.
