Petite ‘N Pretty Founder Samantha Cutler died. The cause was cancer. She was 42.

Before creating her own brand in 2018, Cutler worked at MAC Cosmetics, Stila Cosmetics and Smashbox. Petite ‘N Pretty caters to kids ages 4 to 18 and is pediatrician-approved. Cutler was inspired by the swath of what she called “mini makeup artists” who were taking over the internet and their supportive parents.

Cutler battled cancer for six years. She referred to her illness as “an annoyance” and chose to live around it the best she could, according to her obituary. In an Instagram post, Petite ‘N Pretty noted Cutler built the brand “to inspire young creatives through the power of their own pretty…and sparkle.”

Cutler is survived by her husband Joshua, daughter Gia and son Shia.
