The BBB National Programs National Advertising Division Annual Conference will be held Sept. 28-29 at The Conrad New York Downtown in New York City.

Each year, the conference unites in-house and outside counsel, academic and industry experts, government officials, and marketing executives to examine and navigate the dynamic advertising landscape.

Featured speakers will include Christopher Muffarige, director, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and Samuel Levine, commissioner, NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP).

Mufarrige served in the first Trump Administration as a senior adviser to the director and deputy director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, advising on enforcement, rule-making, and supervisory exams. Most recently, he was Commissioner Melissa Holyoak’s chief of staff and attorney adviser.

Levine leads DCWP’s consumer protection, worker rights and business licensing work across New York City. Prior to this role, he served as director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection from 2021 to 2025, where he oversaw enforcement, rule-making, and market-monitoring initiatives spanning privacy, digital advertising, financial services and artificial intelligence.
