BASF Adds Natural Origin Peptide Solution for Fuller-Looking Hair

Supplier also rolls out biodegradable conditioning agent to European market.

BASF recently rolled out Aloversil, a cosmetic ingredient with natural peptides designed to support the appearance of denser hair in men experiencing visible signs of shedding. The new ingredient helps maintain a healthy scalp environment, which is key for visibly stronger, fuller and more resilient hair.

Aloversil is made from the seedcake of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), a byproduct of juice and oil production; it is also 00 percent natural origin according to ISO 16128.

Biodegradable Conditioning Agent

With Dehyquart S18 (INCI: Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine) BASF’s Personal Care business is introducing a new hair care ingredient to the European market. This cationic conditioning agent is intended for use in hair care formulations, especially conditioners, hair masks and hair treatments. It is readily biodegradable (based on OECD standards) and has a renewable carbon content (RCC) of 78 percent, said the company.
