Herkenbosch site doubles production of Dissolvine to meet demand for eco-friendly dishwashing and liquid laundry products.

Nouryon has completed construction of a chelates production plant in Herkenbosch, the Netherlands. Startup is expected in the second quarter. The move meets increasing global demand for innovative and sustainable chelates for the consumer cleaning industry, according to company executives. “Nouryon continues to prioritize investments in sustainable solutions that offer high renewable content without sacrificing performance,” said Larry Ryan, EVP and president, performance formulations and the Americas, Nouryon. “As a strategic market for Nouryon, home and personal is seeing a big shift in demand from traditional, petroleum-based solutions to biodegradable options and we have the footprint to prove it.” The new plant doubles Nouryon’s Dissolvine green chelates capacity by supplying Dissolvine M or MGDA, Dissolvine GL or GLDA and other ingredients to multinational and regional customers. The Herkenbosch site complements the company’s existing plants in Ningbo, China and Ohio, US. “The commissioning of this new production site is driven by eco-friendly solutions in the auto dishwashing and liquid laundry markets,” said Suzanne Carroll, VP-home and personal care, Nouryon. “This new facility supports our broad product portfolio of readily biodegradable chelates and will strengthen our global footprint to supply customers in Asia, Europe and North America.”
