In-Cosmetics Asia announced the winners of its annual Innovation Awards this week in Bangkok.  The awards recognize outstanding ingredient innovations from some of the leading suppliers in the beauty industry. An expert judging panel selected new ingredients in three categories: active, functional and spotlight. The winners are:

Active Ingredient Award

Gold:  Immunight by Lucas Meyer Cosmetics. This green-processed oil-soluble lavandin extract is specifically designed to reduce the effects of poor-quality sleep on skin by boosting nighttime skin recovery and targeting the improvement of sleep quality by inhalation of olfactory compounds.

Silver: Regetaste by CODIF. This anti-aging epidermal ingredient improves skin texture and brightness.

Bronze: Perfeline by Rahn AG. A water-based extraction of Helichrysum italicum syn angustifolium, chlorogenic acid, and di-O-caffeoylquinic acids, Perfeline is said to to strengthen the micro-vessels in human skin.

Functional Ingredient Award

Gold: Emulium Dermolea MB by Gattefossé.  This plant-based O/W emulsifier offers a unique lipidic composition rich in sterols and triterpenes to reduce skin stress and bring long-term soothing.

Silver: Softisan MagicPowder S by IOI Oleo. This water-resistant/water-binding vegan film-former provides a skin-caring, barrier-protecting effect.

Bronze: Bentone Plus Glow by Elementis. It combines natural ingredients designed to impart rheological control and suspension to the oil phase of cosmetics and skin care products and promote the skin’s barrier function.

Spotlight on Formulation Award: Sustainable, Conscious Beauty

Gold:  SunCat JCW03 by Bio-Nest Biochemical Technology.

Silver: Lotion with Neosolue-Aqulio by Nippon Fine Chemical.

Bronze: BioSyn-Bisabolol by Soho Aneco Chemicals

Spotlight on Formulation Award: Love is in the Hair

Gold: Burgeon-UP(HS) by Ichimaru Pharcos. 

Gold: Detox Scalp Butter Mask by Azelis.
