Glowing skin, often referred to as glass- or glazed-like skin, remains a prevailing trend, as consumers increasingly prioritize achieving a natural, healthy radiance through skin care

—as opposed to relying solely on makeup.

At the core of this trend is a simple, yet comprehensive skin care regimen that places emphasis on deep hydration alongside double cleansing, gentle exfoliation and sun protection.

In fact, the Kline Group’s latest data shows a 20% increase in consumers seeking skin care treatments with hydration as a key benefit over the past year. Analysts say this trend is seeing a significant increase in popularity, with online searches spiking during the same period.

In the pursuit of radiant skin, consumers are turning to several standout products that are making waves on social media platforms. These include Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, renowned for its pore-unclogging benefits; Cosrx’s Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, valued for its intense hydrating and revitalizing properties; and Medicube’s AGE-R Booster-H, prized for its innovative glow technology.

Hair Gloss Is Boss

According to analysts, the glow beauty trend also extends to hair care, with more consumers searching for, and creating TikTok content related to hair gloss. This surge in interest has propelled the popularity of various hair gloss treatments, with some notable options. These include Ouai’s Hair Gloss In-Shower Shine Treatment; Kristin Ess Hair’s Signature Hair Gloss; and Redken’s Acidic Color Gloss Activated Glass Gloss Treatment— all of which are gaining significant traction among consumers.

The impact of this trend is not only seen in social media engagement, but reflected in the market figures. According to Kline PRO’s comprehensive database tracking point-of-sale transactions for both salon retail products and services, revenue from gloss treatments accounted for $783 million in 2022. Brands are capturing a revenue share by promoting at-home gloss treatments.
