More than 700 beauty industry executives from China and throughout Asia attended the Personal Care Technology Summit & Expo in Shanghai this week. The annual event is produced by Ringier, Happi’s partner in China and publisher of Happi China. During the two-day event (June 28 & 29) attendees could visit with more than 80 exhibitors of raw materials and equipment to the cosmetics industry. Actives, functional ingredients and preservatives were just a few of the product categories on display in the exhibition hall. The conference includes sessions on novel raw materials, sustainability, whitening and anti-allergy, anti-pollution, regulations and testing issues. “This is a great opportunity to meet your peers. In addition to more than 60 presentations, it is a great place to do business,” explained Michael Hay, president, Ringier. “There is a lot of opportunities for interaction between delegates and exhibitors. We even help delegates find the suppliers they need. It’s all about learning, it’s all about networking and it’s all about doing business.” Personal Care Technology Summit & Expo also includes the prestigious Ringier Technology Innovation Awards, which honors leading suppliers in several categories including effective ingredients, functional ingredients, packaging, testing, and production and processing in skin care, color cosmetics, personal cleansers and other categories.
