Tri-K Industries presents new test results.
November 3, 2011
By: TOM BRANNA
Chief Content Officer
TRI-K Industries recently shared the results of comparative testing of its specialty natural proteins in hair care formulations. The featured products are all gluten-free, GMO-free, and sourced from natural feedstocks, according to the company. Looking to increase foam? Try Barla-Tein Pro. Made from food grade Golden Barley and gently hydrolyzed without enzymes, this ingredient is ideal for natural personal care products. Barla-Tein Pro was quickly identified and marketed as having soothing properties in skin care, but a recent comparison of 15 different TRI-K proteins has shown that Barla-Tein Pro has foaming properties unlike any of its products. In a standard foam height test, Barla-Tein Pro had very high foam and held the same height for five minutes. Characteristic observation also noted that the foam was richer and creamier with Barla-Tein Pro, making this protein an excellent choice to add to shampoos and body washes to give a more luxurious lather and feel. Rice Pro-Tein BK is a soluble, cosmetic grade vegetable protein derived from rice flour (Oryza Sativa). This ingredient has traditionally been used for adding tensile strength and shine to hair. New data has shown that Rice Pro-Tein BK has the added benefit of enhancing volume. A test with five cycles using a shampoo and conditioner with 1% Rice Pro-Tein BK each demonstrated a noticeable volume enhancement with soft-feel and no build up, according to the company. Quinoa, the “Mother Grain” of the ancient Incas, is the newest source of plant proteins for hair care and skin care. The company’s Quinoa Pro EX has had proven results with its ability to repair damaged cuticle and penetrate deep into the hair shaft. New testing has identified Quinoa Pro EX as an excellent ingredient for adding gloss and curl definition in ethnic hair care and styling products. A test with five cycles using a solution with 1% Quinoa Pro EX demonstrated a 51% increase in gloss (measured by Glossmeter) with no build-up. More info: www.tri-k.com
