Unilever To Acquire Wellness Company Grüns

Happi International Top 30 Company expands its beauty and health portfolio with supplements brand.

Gruns is fast-growing supplements brand.

Unilever signed an agreement to acquire Grüns, a fast-growing wellness company with a leading position in supplements.

Products are touted as “daily nutrition for superfoods” and contain over 20 vitamins & minerals as well as whole food fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, prebiotics, adaptogens and antioxidants.

Grüns is distributed through retail and direct-to-consumer channels in the US. Founded in 2023 by entrepreneur Chad Janis, the company has “a clear mission to make daily nutrient support an easy, enjoyable ritual.”

The acquisition expands Unilever’s portfolio towards “premium and high growth spaces with a stronger focus on beauty & wellbeing and the US market,” the Happi International Top 30 Company contends.

“We are thrilled to welcome Grüns into the Unilever family. As a leader and true innovator in the Greens Supplement category, what sets Grüns apart is its focused portfolio of science-backed products that people genuinely enjoy, trust and consistently use. This combination of efficacy and experience is powerful, and together we see a significant opportunity to scale the brand within our Wellbeing business,” said Jostein Solheim, Unilever Wellbeing CEO.

Janis of Grüns said: “Our customers are the reason Grüns exists, and this partnership is ultimately for them. With Unilever behind us, we can reach more people, move faster, and continue raising the bar on what an enjoyable daily wellness habit can be.”

The terms of the deal were not disclosed and the transaction is expected to close later this year.

Unilever’s Big Business

Last week, Unilever entered into an agreement to combine its foods business with McCormick & Company, as reported in Happi.

The fiscal year was a good one at Unilever, according to its annual report, with 2025 sales rising 3.8% to €50.5 billion.

For 2025, Beauty & Wellbeing unit sales increased 4.3%, as reported in Happi. Unilever wellness brands include Liquid I.V. and Nutrafol, amongst others.

What’s New at Nutrafol?

Nutrafol, the hair growth supplement maker known for its “bio-specific, whole-body approach”, recently launched Nutrafol Men 50+ Hair Growth Nutraceutical formulated specifically for men ages 50 and above. The product was created to address the biological shifts that occur around 50, according to the brand. The physician-formulated, vegan supplement uses Nutrafol’s patented Synergen Complex Renewal to support the evolving biology of men 50 and older and is NSF Certified for Sport.
