With the start of spring three weeks away, consumers are melting over butter yellow nails.

According to booking platform Fresha, searches for butter yellow nails are up 2,983% ahead of spring 2026, with Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez spreading the trend. The reason for its rich return? Experts dub butter yellow a “new neutral,” bridging the gap between neutral tones and pastels. Unlike other yellow hues, buttery undertones also complement most skin tones, adding a pop of color without going too bold.

“Looking at Spring 2026 nail trends, we are seeing a variety of designs, colors and styles ranging from retro favorites such as polka dots and French tips, to the continuing popularity of newer trends such as magnetic nail art and cat eye swirls,” said Fresha expert Annabelle Taurua.

Polkadot nails have seen a year-over-year (YoY) change of 1,582% with A-list songstress Dua Lipa leading the trend. Minimal manicure has seen a 515% YoY change. While spring is a fun time to experiment with color, a neat manicure leans into the idea that “less is more”, moving away from louder nail trends and focusing more on subtle, simplistic shades and designs.
