Shiseido Patent Details Cosmetic with Fluorescent Conversion Materials

US Patent 12,551,418 B2 (Yusuke Okuyama, Kazuyuki Miyazawa, Nobuyoshi Koga, Tetsuya Kanemaru, Renaud Gillet, Bianca McCarthy); Shiseido Company, Tokyo, was awarded patent for a novel cosmetic lotion or cream with a conversion substance suitable for effectively utilizing ultraviolet to activate skin cells. The drug contained in the cosmetic is not only effective for rough skin and whitening, but also increases the function of the UV wavelength conversion substance. The cosmetic comprising a UV wavelength conversion substance and one or more drugs selected from the group consisting of a derivative of glycyrrhizic acid (dipotassium glycyrrhizinate), a derivative of nicotinic acid (nicotinic acid amide), tranexamic acid, a derivative of salicylic acid, (potassium 4-methoxysalicylate) and a carboxylic acid represented by formula below, and salts thereof.

The UV wavelength conversion substance comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of phycocyanin, vitamin B2, and a zinc oxide phosphor.

The carboxylic acid represented by the formula comprises 1-piperidine propionic acid.
