Interparfums Signs Exclusive Worldwide License Agreement with David Beckham

Authentic Brands, who co-owns and manages the account, moves the brand over from Coty.

Soccer’s famous face has a new home. Interparfums has entered into an exclusive, 20-year worldwide license agreement with David Beckham and Authentic Brands Group for the creation, development, production and distribution of fragrances under the David Beckham brand.

Interparfums will assume full global responsibility for David Beckham’s fragrances, effective April 1, 2028. The fragrance collection has been under the Coty umbrella.

The company plans to strengthen the global presence of Beckham’s existing fragrance lines and plans to unveil a new signature scent by the end of 2029.

“We are delighted to collaborate with David Beckham, who embodies modern sophistication and timeless elegance shaped by determination, authenticity and refined taste,” said Jean Madar, chairman and chief executive officer of Interparfums. “This milestone agreement further strengthens our relationship with Authentic Brands Group, the visionary company who co-owns and manages the David Beckham brand. Together, we will blend Beckham’s entrepreneurial influence with our fragrance expertise to inspire a richer world of style and self-expression through scent.”

According to Madar, Interparfums’ “dedication to quality, innovation and craftsmanship will strengthen the global presence of Beckham’s existing fragrance lines.”

He estimates that total annual sales will exceed $50 million in the first years under Interparfums’ management.

Jamie Salter, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Authentic, said, “We are pleased to partner with Interparfums, whose strategic vision, operational excellence and fragrance expertise are unmatched in the industry. With the incredible success they have achieved with Guess fragrances, we’re confident they’ll bring the same level of creativity, quality and long-term value to the Beckham brand.”

Beckham’s Global Brand

In February 2022, Authentic, a sports and entertainment licensing company, announced a strategic partnership with David Beckham to co-own and manage Beckham’s global brand. In connection with the partnership, David Beckham became a shareholder in ABG and joined a roster of ABG’s growing entertainment portfolio that includes sports brands such as Muhammad Ali, Shaquille O’Neal and Sports Illustrated.

Nautica Deal

In other news, Interparfums has signed a deal with lifestyle brand Nautica for the creation, development, production, and distribution of fragrances under the Nautica brand name. It is also under Authentic ownership.

It announced its extension of the Guess? deal as well this week, as reported in Happi.

Interparfums will assume full global responsibility for Nautica fragrances effective Jan. 1, 2030.

“Nautica is world-renowned for bringing the inspiration of the sea to everyday style. We are thrilled to collaborate with this global lifestyle brand to enrich their existing portfolio and develop new fragrances that channel the maritime spirit in a modern and accessible manner. We estimate that total annual sales of the Nautica fragrance portfolio will exceed $70 million in the first years,” said Madar.

Authentic’s Portfolio

Authentic’s diversified portfolio spans more than 50 brands and reaches nearly one billion social media followers. Its roster includes Guess?, Nautica, Juicy Couture, Vince Camuto and many others in the lifestyle and fashion space.
