Croda Debuts SphingoCare DS-Ceramix V

Promotes moisture reinforcement for sensitive skin.

Beyond striking preclinical biomarker results, proven barrier reinforcement and long-lasting hydration, new tests demonstrated DS-Ceramix V from Croda offers visible comfort and sensory benefits for dry and sensitive skin.

DS-Ceramix V is a bio-designed, skin-inspired liquid crystal lamellar system delivering essential stratum corneum lipids including an optimized 2:1:1 ratio of ceramide NP, ceramide AP and phytosphingosine to closely mimic the skin’s natural composition. This structure reinforces the barrier “scaffold” and moisture-retaining lamellae.

In a 28-day study, DS-Ceramix V reduced skin roughness by up to 24% versus baseline, visibly improving skin texture compared with placebo, according to the supplier. Additional tests showed a 38.8% gain in elasticity after 5 days, +57.3% hydration on sensitive skin versus T0 and an 81% reduction in itching scores versus baseline, bringing rapid comfort to irritated skin.

Neurobeauty testing using EEG demonstrated that, despite similar texture to a placebo cream, DS-Ceramix V from Croda uniquely shifts emotional responses toward greater relaxation, comfort and pampering during application. RSPO certified, vegan-suitable and IECIC compliant, DS-Ceramix V offers brands a powerful, science-backed story to address the new standard in barrier care and sensitive skin formulations.
