US Patent No. 12,509,648 B2: The Procter & Gamble Company has patented a partitioned cartridge for automatic distribution of dishwashing chemicals.

It is multi-use cartridge that can last 20-30 or more washing cycles, according to the patent.

It has a protective top film and a compartmentalized body comprising a plurality of contained solution sectors each comprising a fluid reservoir and a distribution chamber. Different chemicals may be stored and individually metered out to the dishwashing machine.

Paulus Antonius Augustinus Hoefte and Vincent Hubert Monique De Wilde of Belgium are credited with the work detailed in the patent.
