L’Oréal has been recognized with a triple-A rating by CDP for the 10th year in a row. The global environmental non-profit organization rates companies for their leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change, forests and water security.

L’Oréal was one of only 23 companies to receive a triple-A score this year out of 22,100 companies reporting. What’s more, the beauty giant, and No. 1 in Happi’s 2025 International Top 30 Report, is the first and only to achieve this distinction 10 years running, according to CDP.

L’Oréal’s Key Achievements

The company’s key achievements, in 2024, include reaching 97% renewable energy across its operated sites; sourcing 92% of its bio-based ingredients and materials in formulas and packaging from sustainable, traceable sources; and ensuring that 53% of the water used in its industrial processes comes from recycled or reused sources.

L’Oréal officials said the achievement is testament to its deep-rooted commitment to fully integrate sustainability into the heart of its business strategy and across itsday-to-day operations.

CDP’s scoring draws an independent methodology aligned with the TCFD framework. It evaluates a company’s depth of reporting, understanding of environmental risks, and evidence of best practice – including ambitious target-setting and verified action.
