Centuries-old beauty rituals have it that Kyoto’s geisha once kissed crushed gold onto their lips.

Now, Japanese beauty brand Tatcha is capitalizing on that time-honored tradition with its limited-edition Kissu Lip Mask in Gold Leaf. Infused with 23-karat gold, the lip mask touts turning everyday care into a moment of radiance.

The iteration is a luxe addition created in partnership with celebrity Mua and Tatcha’s Global Director of Artistry Daniel Martin.

Kiss-Worthy Benefits

With moisture-sealing squalane and revitalizing Japanese peach, the lip mask plumps, hydrates and smooths to restore fullness and softness to flaky lips. The non-sticky jelly sinks into lips to return essential moisture while leaving a natural glossy finish. The lip mask also reveals plump, pillowy soft lips while strengthening the pout’s delicate moisture barrier to stave off dryness and reveal a soft texture.

Gold continues to be woven into Tatcha’s brand story, taking a page from the brand’s Aburatorigami Japanese blotting papers.

Kissu Lip Mask in Gold Leaf retails for $29 at Tatcha.com, Sephora, Ulta and Amazon.
