La Mer and The Salk Institute Create Healthy Aging Fellowship

Research focuses on cell mitochondria and aging,

La Mer partnered with The Salk Institute in San Diego on a three-year fellowship focused on healthy aging. Aptly named, the La Mer Healthy Aging Fellowship, the postdoctoral research program will focus on cell mitochondria and aging, and has been awarded to Ankita Chadda.

It is the first fellowship partnership betweeen La Mer and The Salk Institute. La Mer is owned by The Estée Lauder Companies.

Ankita Chadda, PhD, earned a Bachelor degree in Biology at Mohanlal Sukhadia University and a Masters degree in Biochemistry at Sardar Patel Medical College. At Sardar, she studied mechanisms of inhibition of the translation of hepatitis A viral RNA by a cleavage product of polypyrimidine tract binding protein. 

Chadda has been a postdoc researcher at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies for more than one year.
