The Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) is accepting submissions for the 2025 Green Star Award. The SCC Green Star Award, sponsored by Colonial Chemical, recognizes a green, sustainable formulation developed during the past 12-month period. Award determination is governed by the selection committee, comprised of experienced formulators. The committee assesses the product’s novelty; creativity & claims efficacy; green ingredient composition; processing & energy use; and packaging.
The Award will be presented during the Society’s 79th Annual Scientific Meeting, Dec. 15-17, 2025, at the Sheraton NY Times Square.
“The SCC is proud to recognize the efforts of formulators who design green, natural products while maintaining safety and efficacy with sustainability in mind,” said SCC Chief Executive Officer Erica L. O’Grady, CAE.
Submissions are accepted by completing the online application and providing five samples of the commercialized product for evaluation. Applications for the Green Star Award must be received by 11:59pm Saturday, July 21, 2025. Product samples must be postmarked by that date. Visit the Green Star Award web page for details.
The Green Star Award winner will receive an award certificate, honorarium and complimentary SCC membership for one full year, and be invited to accept the award in person at the SCC’s 79th Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase.
