Braids, ponytails and volume lead hairstyle trends.
May 12, 2025
By: Melissa Meisel
Garren of R+Co and Leo Izquierdo of IGK shared the leading hairstyle trends for Spring 2025 you need to know now.
According to Garren, Celebrity Stylist and Co-Founder of R+Co:
“This trend is about pulling inspiration from the 60s, capturing a feel of fullness and bounce. For the best hold, use R+Co Bleu’s Root Booster Volume Spray ($42) on the ends the Essential Hair Tonic ($42), blow dry the hair loosely until its 90% dry then place the electric or velcro rollers, heat them up, do your makeup then brush your hair out. Tease to the crown of your hair and finish with Cult Classic Flexible Hairspray ($46) or R+Co Bleu’s new Ultra Dry Texture Spray ($49) on the ends for a tousled finish.”
“This style is about taking on the glamour of the 50s and 60s, embracing a touseled look instead of keeping the hair prim and proper. Use R+Co Bleu’s Root Booster Volume Spray ($42) or a mousse depending on your hair, then finish the style with Cult Classic Flexible Hairspray ($46), this combination will leave the hair tousled and separated for a sexy feel with lots of volume.”
Leo Izquierdo, Co-founder of IGK Hair Care, says:
“For 60s-inspired volume, spray IGK’s Beach Club Touchable Texture Spray ($36) then finish the look with Disco Disco Clear Gloss Shine Spray ($34) which can add shine without weighing down strands.”
“Retro meets Gen Z style for an effortlessly cool vibe. This style is easy to recreate at home by making chunky braids that frame the face, leaving the rest of the hair loose.”
“This style is a nod to ‘90s elegance, this look is both polished and face-framing. When recreating this look, be sure to create a slicked back, high ponytail with face-framing strands. You can braid the loose strands for a modern twist. Try IGK’s Crybaby Smoothing and Finishing Serum ($32) for smooth strands.”
