10th Annual Hollywood Beauty Awards To Honor Davis Factor with Outstanding Achievement in Photography

The annual Hollywood Beauty Awards, founded by Michele Elyzabeth, will celebrate a decade of honoring the architects of beauty at the 10th HBAs on Sunday, April 6, at Avalon Hollywood.

The Hollywood Beauty Awards (HBAs) recognize talent in hair, makeup, photography and styling for film, TV, music, the red carpet and editorial, as well as special honorees.

Davis Factor will be honored with Outstanding Achievement in Photography at the 10th ceremony.

Mark Seliger, Timothy White, Norman Seef, Bobby Holland and the late Douglas Kirland are among the past HBA photography honorees.

Factor, the great-grandson of Max Factor, is a renowned photographer and entrepreneur. He developed his craft at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena before working with the Paris Fashion Group and Industria SuperStudio.

In 1990, Factor and his brother Dean founded Smashbox Studios, followed by the launch of Smashbox Cosmetics in 1996 and Photogenics Media in 2002. As chief creative worldwide of Smashbox Cosmetics, Factor oversees brand development, creative advertising and global partnerships. Under his leadership, Smashbox grew into a globally recognized brand and was later acquired by Estée Lauder in 2010.

Having earned four Clio Awards for his work, Factor’s photography portfolio includes high-profile figures from Kobe Bryant to Cindy Crawford, Robert Downey, Jr., Idris Elba, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Pamela Anderson and more. With work featured in international campaigns, covers and editorial spreads for Condé Nast, as well as major fashion brands, his 2015 Thomas Wylde campaign starring Poppy Delevingne was named one of the year’s top campaigns by Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.

Factor’s career highlights are showcased in his book Make S#!+ Happen, which spans three decades of impactful photography.

Factor will accept Outstanding Achievement in Photography at the black-tie ceremony on Sunday, April 6, 2025 benefitting Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Last week, the HBAs announced Academy Award winner Janty Yates as the 2025 Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design honoree. Additional honorees will be announced shortly. Nominee voting will open to the public on Monday, February 10 until Monday, March 3, 2025.

Christopher Guy is the official designer of the HBAs Holly statuette.

Mike Marino to be Honored with Outstanding Achievement

Academy Award-nominee Mike Marino will be honored with Outstanding Achievement in SFX Makeup at the 10th ceremony.

Rick Baker, Joel Harlow and Michael Westmore are among the past HBA SFX Makeup honorees. A master of cinematic transformation, Mike Marino is a three-time Academy Award nominated makeup-artist. His extraordinary ability to bring characters to life through prosthetics and special effects has earned him recognition for his groundbreaking work in A Different Man (2025), The Batman (2023), and Coming 2 America (2022). Marino’s artistry turned Colin Farrell into the iconic Penguin in The Penguin, gave Eddie Murphy the ability to portray multiple characters with remarkable authenticity, and created a stunning, transformative look for Sebastian Stan in A Different Man.

At a young age, Marino became a protégé of legendary makeup artist Dick Smith. With over 30 years of experience in the film industry, he has collaborated with Hollywood’s top filmmakers and stars, including Martin Scorsese, Darren Aronofsky, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Nicole Kidman and John Travolta.
