With one month left in the year, meteorologists expect 2024 to be the hottest year on record. At the UN Climate Change Conference, COP29, in Baku, Azerbaijan last month, scientists reported The January – September 2024 global mean surface air temperature was 1.54°C above the pre-industrial average.

With the Paris Agreement in peril, industry in general and beauty brands in particular, are rushing to roll out sustainable products and packaging. One of them is Garnier. The brand, known for its five fruit and avocado oil-infused hair and skincare products, put its commitment to sustainability on display at a makeshift farmer’s market at the Glasshouse Chelsea high above the Big Apple ahead of Thanksgiving. Guests got a first look of what the new year has in store for the brand in terms of sustainable (and trendy) new product releases.

Green Science-Powered Products

Rooted in a philosophy touting green sciences as the future of beauty, Garnier says it creates products formulated with maximum efficacy and minimal planetary impact. Vegan formulas are made with sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology to ensure environmental responsibility without sacrificing quality.

For 2025, Garnier is partnering with the National Park Foundation to help preserve and protect national parks. Garnier is supporting young leaders who are dedicating over 200,000 hours to protect and preserve more than 85 million acres. These efforts include trail restoration and building to preserving historic structures and removing invasive species.

In an interactive space that included a farmer’s market, human car wash and product demonstrations, Garnier unveiled its new hair and skincare products for spring 2025.

Nutrisse Ultra Color

Looking ahead to spring, Nutrisse wants at-home hair colorists to hang up on dark tresses and answer to caramel hues: “Caramelos is calling.” Garnier’s Nutrisse Ultra Color’s three hair coloring kits aimed to help DIYers with Latin-American roots achieve up to three levels of lift for lighter hair with Caramelos Blonde for medium-brown, dark brown and soft black hair. Promising shinier, silkier and nourished hair, the formulas provide luminous blonde hair without the brass with a five fruit-oil blend.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Sleek and Stay Anti-Frizz Protection, High Shine

For Garnier, good hair is synonymous with good health. The brand’s new Sleek & Stay heat-activated serum provides anti-frizz benefits for up to one week (or five washes) after one use. Offering heat protection for up to 450°F, one pump is evenly distributed through damp hair after shampooing and conditioning (ideally with the brand’s Sleek & Shine duo) before blow-drying and/or flat-ironing. The result is sleek, manageable tresses that resist humidity and delivers shine.

Hair Filler Fullness Repair System

With hair loss top of mind (and head!) for consumers, Garnier addresses hair thinning and brittle hair with its new Hair Filler Fullness Repair System. Fillers, after all, aren’t just for skin!

The brand’s Hair Filler Polypeptides Fullness Repair shampoo and conditioner include 3% and 14% polypeptides, citric acid and repair care complex, respectively, to target thin, weak follicles. The thickening spray, formulated with 2% polypeptides, citric acid and repair care complex, creates visibly fuller hair in one use, while the rinse-out Hair Filler and bonding inner fiber repair treatment is formulated with 15% peptides, citric acid and bond repair complex.

The system results in thicker looking and feeling hair with up to seven times less hair fall from brushing-induced breakage with continuous use.

Whole Blends Honey Water Collection

Just as hair loss is a prime concern for beauty enthusiasts, scalp care is a natural extension.

Garnier’s Whole Blends Honey Water Moisture Restoring collection includes a moisture-restoring shampoo and conditioner, and honey water leave-in cream. Designed for all hair types, it targets dry hair and scalp with honey nectar and floral water to replenish moisture, and illuminate and smooth hair without weighing it down. The leave-in cream, infused with white rose and citrus, locks in hydration for up to 100 hours.

Garnier Skinactive All-in-1 Purifying Micellar Cleansing Water

Whether sebum is due to hormonal changes contributing to acne, or just from overnight buildup, Garnier’s Skinactive All-in-1 Purifying Micellar Cleansing Water aims to keep excess sebum at bay for up to eight hours. The multi-use micellar water’s functionality includes cleansing, removing makeup and minimizing pore size so that skin is refreshed and mattified without harsh rubbing. Based on expert grading after twice-daily use for a month, 32% saw a reduction in dark marks caused from acne while 67% noticed instantly less sebum.

The product can be paired with Micellar Cleaning Eco Pads, which are petal-soft, washable and good for 1,000 uses. At the product unveiling, the brand’s new micellar cleansing water was displayed before a human car wash installation. The words “dust, sebum, dirt, foundation and pollution” were among the impurities emblazoned on the strips embellished with micelles.
