Phase E

Procedure

Phase A - Combine liquid ingredients in main vessel in formula order and heat to 75-80°C. At temperature, add remaining solid ingredients and continue heating. Phase B - Combine in side vessel and begin heating to 75-80°C. Phase C - Once Phase B reaches 50-55°C, add Phase C to Phase B and continue heating. Phase D - Add to Phase BC and continuing heating. Once uniform and melted, slowly add Phase BCD to Phase A, and increase mixing speed as needed to emulsify the batch. Discontinue heat. Phase E - At 30-35°C, add to the main vessel. As needed, homogenize the batch at 3000 rpm for 1-2 minutes to improve uniformity. Transfer to a suitable holding vessel. The batch will thicken slightly over 12 hours after completion.

Properties

pH: 5.0 to 5.5. Viscosity: Spindle T-D @ 50 rpm (25°C) - 10,000 cP to 15,000 cP. Appearance: Yellowish-white viscous cream.
